La Roche Posay is a sub-brand of Loreal with hundreds of products in different categories. I have used a few of them. Moreover, I have studied many reviews of them.
Now, is La Roche Posay good?
My short answer is, “Yes, all most all of its products are good even though they have some kinds of side effects which are not so severe.”
However, in my study, I found that there are so many other doubts and questions about La Roche Posay among people. Is La Roche Posay cruelty-free? Is it good for acne and hypoallergenic? And so on. Well, to answer all those questions, here I am.
After a detailed study of this brand and using different products for a long time, here is my opinion in this article. It will solve all the confusion that most users have about this brand’s cosmetics. So, let’s go through it.
La Roche Posay- About The Brand
One of the most well-known companies, La Roche Posay, claims to provide life-changing dermatology for sensitive skin. 90,000 dermatologists recommend it as the top dermo-cosmetic brand. Since 1975, La Roche Posay has been inventing innovative skincare products with expert dermatologists to deliver the best service in the skincare industry.
Every product of La Roche Posay is created with mild ingredients that do not cause severe skin irritation. The company specializes in developing products for all skin types and focuses on issues like dry skin, eczema, ageing, and other skin conditions. Every person, regardless of age—from newborns to 104-year-olds—will get the ideal product from La Roche Posay to achieve healthy skin.
Is La Roche Posay Good?
As long as I experienced La Roche Posay’s products, they were good. Moreover, this brand’s product was prescribed by my doctor. So, there is no doubt that all the products are manufactured with mild and gentle formulations for not to cause any severe skin issues.
Yes, if you choose the wrong item without knowing the ingredients and apply them inappropriately, they may cause severe harm. For example, Toleriane Ultra Moisturising Cream is not for acne-prone skin due to its heavy texture. But, for one with oily acne-prone skin, using this cream may cause severe irritation.
Every product is good as long as you use it accordingly. Always consult a dermatologist before you start applying any makeup or skincare items to your skin. I haven’t faced any adverse effects yet with La Roche-Posay’s products. So, they are good.
Is La Roche Posay Cruelty-Free?
There is a debate on whether La Roche Posay is a cruelty-free brand. Most people claim La Roche Posay is not a cruelty-free brand, and some claim it is. A company that claims to be cruelty-free does not subject any of its goods to animal testing.
However, despite claiming their products are cruelty-free on their official website, La Roche Posay pays third parties to test them on animals when it’s “required by law.”
“Where required by law” means the products are tested on animals where it is legal. That means La Roche Posay sells its products in China, where animal testing is permitted. It follows that La Roche Posay is not a cruelty-free brand.
The parent company of La Roche Posay is L’Oreal, which also tests on animals. Their official website statement is not obvious, but they have stated: “unless required by law.” Nevertheless, the brand is not cruelty-free. Well, I hopped on the official website of PETA. There I found that La Roche Posay is on the “not Cruelty-free” list. So La Roche Posay isn’t vegan either. Most people also ask, is La Roche Posay Certified Cruelty-Free? PETA or other brands do not provide any certificates to La Roche Posay as a cruelty-free brand. That means La Roche Posay is not a Certified Cruelty-Free Skincare brand.
Is La Roche Posay Good for Acne?
La Roche Posay is a well-known and widely recommended skincare company that helps with various skin problems, including sensitive skin, ageing, wrinkles, allergic skin, dry skin, and skin prone to acne. The customer frequently returns because of their special focus on skin issues.
In a few months, I noticed a significant reduction in my acne and scars with the powerful anti-acne medications from La Roche Posay. Their products are infused with active ingredients such as Vitamin C, Salicylic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy acid, Glycolic acid, etc., to prevent acne-causing bacteria. In just ten days, I found a considerable decrease in blackheads and small bumps on my face.
Moreover, La Roche Posay offers an acne kit for acne-prone skin on their official website. Whether you have hormonal acne or cystic acne, the acne kit and strong acne medication from La Roche Posay will ensure fresh acne-free skin. Do you have severe acne? Well, then you can use La Roche Posay’s Adapalene Gel as an anti-acne medication.
Is La Roche Posay Hypoallergenic?
If you have severe allergic problems, it is hard to get a suitable product that is hypoallergenic. If you have allergies, you have to use products with gentle ingredients that do not trigger your allergies. That’s why La Roche Posay features an allergy session skincare routine that helps people with allergies.
Every product of La Roche Posay is tested for Ultra-sensitive skin, allergy-prone skin, and dry skin before they are released. Their products are labelled “hypoallergenic,” meaning they are less likely to cause allergic reactions.
The products of La Roche Posay include fewer potential allergens or ingredients that cause allergic reactions. However, labelling something “hypoallergenic” does not mean it will 100% protect you from allergic reactions. People have different allergic reactions, and using La Roche Posay will cause fewer allergic reactions.
Expert dermatologists have tested the product by La Roche Posay for being hypoallergenic. Even customers with severe allergies have approved La Roche Posay for being hypoallergenic and less irritated. Suppose you are still confused about whether your product is hypoallergenic or not. Although this facewash cleanses all dirt, pollutants, and makeup on my face, it fails to remove my sunscreen properly. Moreover, It does not strip the skin by taking all the natural oil.
